In my neighborhood for the first time a sculpture route will be opened on the 16th of August. It is called ArtZuid, Sculptures & Architecture in Amsterdam (“Zuid” means South). Although it is not yet officially opened many of the sculptures are already in place. It is suddenly much more lively on these avenues. I like it very much. I hope they will do it every year. Maarten, I’d love to see some more images of this VW Bus sculpture (I presume?)!! Fascinating curves on the old girl! I have very fond memories of my 3 VW busses … one a 1969 Westphalia pop-top, A 1975 automatic bus, and finally a 1997 Eurovan with Westphalia conversion. Fond memories, indeed!

I saw a couple of years ago VW was planning to make a retro new version of the original van. Did that ever take off?
