Sail 2010

As every five years, Sail 2010 drew a lot of visitors to the large number of tall ships. These three had front row seats.

Low flying (2)

This swallow was flying very low between the houses and the people on a small square in Cordoba, Spain. I tried many time to capture the bird but only a few photos showed a hint of it. This lucky shot I liked the best. My other low flying photo composition can be found here: Low Flying.

Paris Street View

On the Zuidas, in the south of Amsterdam, an open air exhibition called Paris Street View opened recently. Michael Wolf took pictures of his monitor on which he used Google Maps street view functionality to look at the streets of Paris. Here are two snaps I took of this exhibition.

Lines and moon

Walking around in the business district near my neighborhood yesterday afternoon I saw this scene: strict architectural lines, a knotty tree crown and the moon. I was walking around the area because of a photo exhibition by Michael Wolf called Paris Street View. More about that in another post.

Track with ice

Yesterday I received the intriguing photo book of Bernard Fuchs called “Roads and Paths“. When I was in my early teens I would often fantasize about where a path or road would lead to. Some of these ancient roads would lead to other continents of over high mountains, up to the top, where they would end. This books show roads and paths, small, hidden or unclear and indecisive.

Today I walked to a nearby park when I saw a car track which was filled with pieces of ice. This brought my mind back to the book, which I bought after only having a look at the front cover and reading the title. After not making photos for some weeks I finally took a couple, one of them you can see below.

Snow and Dogs
