When we bought our current house, three years ago, I found a couple of roles of B&W negatives. I recently scanned them. A couple more of them can be found on the Found Photos page.
Interesting find, Maarten. Looks like something from the 1950′s. One wonders what the canvas covered structure is on the right … a radio antenna? Curious, too, why the photographer snapped the photo with these people walking across the frame. Any clue to the identity of the photographer?
Chuck, the canvas structure is a tent in front of a caravan; a “front tent” (not sure if this is an English expression).
If you look at the Found Photos page (link in the post), you will see more photos similar to these. People on a holiday with a camper. The photographer is probably the husband and father of the people in the photos who used to life in our house.
The series on the Found Photos page is better without the photograph in the post itself, I think.
