Amstel river

Today I went cycling south of Amsterdam and on my way back I cycled along the Amstel river. When I sat on a bench I was fascinated by the rhythm of the road structure and tried to capture it.

Keizersgracht panorama

I really enjoy making these panoramas. I should have been a little more precise. I had to cut of some nice parts of the panorama because some essential part were missing.

The photo of this post is an alternative version of the photo I used in the post “Reflections on a table“. Using the advise of Chuck I applied a gradient for the foreground of the photo, but the bright reflection still kept drawing too much attention to my taste. My solution was to crop the photo and also use a gradient. I think this is a better version of the photograph. As another alternative I post a different exposure of the same scene.

Rockefeller plaza

One of the entrances of the Rockefeller plaza in New York has beautiful artwork (?) on two sides. Lights shine on gold plated objects and reflect it on the wall. I’m not sure about this description, but just look at the picture…. I thought it looks like the shadow of the skyline of New York.

Brooklyn Bridge

How can you make a different photo of something which is photographed so many times like the Brooklyn Bridge or the Statue of Liberty? Zoom in?! (It needs some new paint BTW!)

Leaf and Tree

Playing with my camera, looking up into the sky I saw a similarity in shape like an impossible reflection in a pond. The clouds enforce the shapes and link them together.
