Yesterday I received the intriguing photo book of Bernard Fuchs called “Roads and Paths“. When I was in my early teens I would often fantasize about where a path or road would lead to. Some of these ancient roads would lead to other continents of over high mountains, up to the top, where they would end. This books show roads and paths, small, hidden or unclear and indecisive.

Today I walked to a nearby park when I saw a car track which was filled with pieces of ice. This brought my mind back to the book, which I bought after only having a look at the front cover and reading the title. After not making photos for some weeks I finally took a couple, one of them you can see below.

  1. Maarten, I like this a lot!

Speaking of roads that end … last Sunday I led 20 of my friends down just such a road. Yes, there was a sign saying “road ends 2.8 miles ahead”, but I thought my GPS knew better. The next sign told me “Road Ends 1 mile”. Did I stop? Nope!. It was only when I finally came face to face with large concrete blocks across the road that I gave in and said … ok, let’s turn around. That’s ok. It was a nice pleasant little jaunt next to a calm river. LOL!!
